Notice on Coronavirus

Your skin is important to us, and so is your health and the health of our employees. We remain open to provide dermatology services to our patients during this health crisis. We diagnose and treat 30+ skin cancers each month, treat precancerous skin conditions, and manage acute and chronic rashes with substantial effects on quality of life. To meet the needs of the community during this difficult time, we have taken the following additional safety measures to protect our patients and staff:

  • We offer online "virtual visits" with live/synchronous 2-way video and audio to allow patients to receive care while in the comfort and safety of their homes
  • All our staff will be wearing masks at all times while patients are in the office. Patients are required to wear masks while in the office, and may remove them as needed during their examination.
  • HEPA filters with UV sterilizers installed in all patient rooms and common areas.
  • Both patients and staff will be screened for fever/high temperature with temperature checks upon arrival.
  • Patients will be isolated from each other in patient rooms to the greatest extent possible. Our goal is to have every patient in a private room within 2 minutes of arrival.
  • Lastly, all patients receiving non-emergency care must sign that they understand and will abide by our Coronavirus safety policy:

“For the safety of our patients and staff, if you have known or possible exposure to coronavirus, have traveled to high risk areas, or have fever/cough or flu-like symptoms, we will kindly reschedule your appointment at no penalty once you are no longer at risk.”

About Dr. Halsey

Dr. Mark Halsey, MD is a double board-certified dermatologist practicing general, cosmetic, and pediatric dermatology in the South Fork. Dr. Halsey received his undergraduate degree in Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He graduated from the University of South Florida College of Medicine, where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, and served as president of his medical school class.

Dr. Halsey completed his internship at the world-renowned Massachusetts General Hospital (Harvard Medical School), followed by dermatology residency at the University of Massachusetts, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year. He then completed additional training in pediatric dermatology at Boston Children's Hospital (Harvard Medical School, Dept. of Dermatology) to obtain a second board certification in pediatric dermatology. He completed the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery Preceptorship program to gain additional expertise in cosmetic dermatology, and minimally invasive procedures of the skin.

He holds a faculty appointment at the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at NYU, where he has taught residents and medical students as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology since 2016, and previously held a training appointment at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Halsey is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, with dual board certifications in Dermatology and Pediatric Dermatology. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and a member of the Society for Pediatric Dermatology.

His practice interests are in procedural, cosmetic, pediatric, and general dermatology. He maintains a clinically focused and patient-centered practice. He has multiple publications in peer-reviewed research journals, and currently serves as a reviewer for the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Mark Halsey has deep ties to the south fork, with family living in the Hamptons for the past 13 generations. He lives in Water Mill, with his wife, June, and his 2 children.

Dr. Mark Halsey chose his career as a path to serving the members of his community. Twice a month, he travels to Manhattan to volunteer at Bellevue Hospital Center, offering his unique expertise as a double board-certified dermatologist in general and pediatric dermatology. He is one of only roughly 300 fellowship-trained board-certified pediatric dermatologists in the entire United States, with his pediatric training occurring at arguably two of the most respected hospitals in the world, Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children's Hospital. His volunteer clinics in NYC allow him to teach dermatology and pediatrics residents at NYU, and share his unique training and skillset with the community, including children in need who may be otherwise unable to access care.
